Dear Mr. Henshaw

51z7eJJmwyL._SX331_BO1,204,203,200_This book has been a tried and true book to teach many concepts to fourth graders. I have used this book for years in writing class, because it shows how writing can be used in real life. My students also have enjoyed this book because it is extremely relatable when it comes to having “feelings” at that age about divorce.

A sixth grade boy struggles with his emotions after his parents separate and he moves to a new place with his mother. He begins writing his favorite author which ends up being more than just an assignment; a friendship blossoms.
